Transportation of prefabricated cargoes

Collected cargo or LTL (Less than Truck Load) is a type of transportation, where the loading of transport is carried out by small batches of goods from different customers. The customer orders only a place in the carrier’s vehicle.

The advantage of prefabricated or consolidated shipments is the distribution of delivery costs proportionally among the participants-customers of transportation.  They allow the truck to be completely filled before it is dispatched, which provides an opportunity to maximize the optimization of delivery costs. LTL is most suitable for the transportation of small shipments or small quantities of goods.

An important stage of LTL is the assembly of parts of the shipment at the warehouse at the point of origin, where the goods are processed and stored until the delivery set is finalized. The delivery time directly depends on the time of shipment formation. Peculiarities of international transportation of prefabricated cargoes

The price of transportation of international prefabricated cargoes depends on the route and its length, the number of individual cargoes, storage time at the assembly warehouse and registration of the necessary permits for crossing customs. The specificity of delivery of prefabricated cargo abroad is the lack of comprehensive protection of each cargo separately. Dangerous goods and items that are particularly vulnerable to damage should not be transported in this way. Goods that are not recommended to be transported in this way include plants, explosives, foodstuffs, valuable goods.
